We
are now running a free hosted TOIA service between now and the end
of January 2007, when the funding for the project ends. This service
is being offered to enable staff members to present formative computer-assisted
assessments to their students without the need to install and administer
the system in their own institution. It is particularly aimed those
individuals who, for whatever reason, are unable to run the system
locally.
The TOIA project team will carry out all the TOIA administration
work for you such as loading questions, adding student records and
the regular systems administration tasks such as database management
and software upgrades.
Staff members will be given access to the system for authoring
and scheduling tests and for viewing the reports, with the option
of exporting the results out of TOIA for loading into your own learning
management system.
As this is a pilot service, we do not recommend that it be used
to deliver high-stakes summative assessments as we cannot guarantee
that it will always be available when you require it. Nor can we
guarantee that administrative support will be available at all times,
although we will endeavour to provide full support on weekdays between
9am and 5pm (excluding holidays).
Please read our guidelines for running
assessments on our hosted service.
Further information can be obtained by contacting
the project manager, Jalshan.
